French introduces tax credit bill for natural gas storage

from KTUU CHannel 2: Anchorage Sen. Hollis French proposed a tax credit to those willing to build a natural gas storage facility for Cook Inlet.

French says the idea is to get the conversation started with a draft bill he introduced Monday.

He says a storage facility is needed in Southcentral to help with possible rolling blackouts because of a problem with delivering enough gas on peak usage days.

“The bill is sort of a conversation starter so we can have a long, in-depth examination of these facilities and make sure everyone is getting a fair deal at the end of the day,” French said.
