Anchorage Elected Officials Gather To Support Hollis French for Governor

Legislators, Assembly Members cite experience, ethics and energy

from Hollis French for Governor Campaign: Elected officials from around Alaska have come out to support Hollis French in his run for Governor of Alaska. Today, 10 gathered in Anchorage to publicly talk about the reasons he has earned their trust.

“Hollis is an exceptional candidate,” said Rep. Les Gara (D-Anchorage). “I know from working with him on ethics reform, oil tax reform, energy policy and children’s issues that he’ll be an exceptional Governor.”

“Hollis has the variety of experiences necessary to govern Alaska,” said Senator Johnny Ellis (D-Anchorage). “He worked 12 years on oil platforms in Cook Inlet and the North Slope. He faced Alaska’s toughest criminals, and brought them to justice as a prosecutor. These experiences serve him well as a State Senator, and they’ll serve him well as Governor of Alaska.”

Present at the event were members of the State Senate (Sens. Johnny Ellis, Bettye Davis, Bill Wielechowski), State House (Reps. Lindsey Holmes, Mike Doogan, Harry Crawford, and Les Gara) and Anchorage Assembly (Elvi Gray-Jackson, Matt Claman and Harriet Drummond).

Other notable public officials who support the campaign include Sen. Albert Kookesh (D-Angoon), Sen. Joe Thomas (D-Fairbanks), and Anchorage Reps. Bob Buch, Chris Tuck, Berta Gardner and Pete Peterson.

“Alaska has some exceptional leaders, and I’m pleased to have the support of these elected officials,” said Senator Hollis French (D-Anchorage). “Together, we can move forward on important issues like improving our education system and keeping our communities safe.”
