Hollis: His Story
Hollis French came to Alaska in January 1978. He was looking for adventure and found it working for Alaska’s oil industry. While working on the North Slope and raising a family, Hollis completed a degree at UAA. Hollis then left to pursue a legal education at Cornell Law School. Degree in hand, Hollis returned home to work for Alaska’s Department of Law, prosecuting some of Alaska’s toughest criminals. In 2002 Hollis ran for the State Senate and was elected. He serves there now as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Why I’m Running
I see Alaska at a crossroads, confronted by great challenges and great opportunities. As someone who has worked hard and seen that work rewarded, I want to be sure that the same opportunities are there for the next generation.
